In this sustainability-focused elective course, students dive into The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, a book that follows William Kamkwamba on his journey to create a windmill in his village to provide sustainable energy to his community.
Through examining scholarly articles, cultivating their ability to create engaging discussion questions, crafting the perfect short reading responses, designing elevator pitches, and honing their overall reading analysis skills, students will spend these four weeks building a passion for combining sustainability with entrepreneurial spirit and will think critically about how to one day create their own businesses that are simultaneously effective and beneficial to those around them. Students will be provided with supplemental practice work after each class. Please note there will be no make-up times or refunds for missed group sessions. |
